Mr. Skelding has more than twenty-five years of diversified experience over a wide spectrum of the commercial real estate industry. He has worked on numerous developments and projects including: the leasing for the redevelopment of Clearview Mall in Metairie, LA, a suburban mall which includes Target, Sears, Bed Bath & Beyond and the Palace Theatre; and was the Leasing Manager for the Elmwood Shopping Center, a 600,000+ square foot power center located in Metairie, LA.
In 1990, Mr. Skelding joined Stirling Properties as the Manager for the Canal Place Complex in New Orleans, an upscale development on Canal Street that includes a three-level urban mall anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue, a hotel and 600,000 square foot office tower with a tenant list of Bellsouth, Dominion Resources and Slumberger.
Since 1993, Mr. Skelding has concentrated in the field of investment real estate, sales and leasing. The clients he has represented comprise local, regional and national companies, and include New Plan Excel Realty Trust, Darden Restaurants, Southern Farm Bureau, Winn-Dixie, Advance Auto, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Ace Cash Express, O’Henry’s Food & Spirits and Marrero Land. He has assisted these clients and many more to achieve their specific real estate goals through his extensive knowledge of the market place and his positive, results-oriented approach.
In 2005, Mr. Skelding handled the marketing and sale of DeSiard Plaza in Monroe, LA, the Marrerro Shopping Center in Marrero, LA, and the Stirling Slidell Centre in Slidell, LA, with a combined value in excess of thirty-five million dollars.
Rick has an MBA from Tulane University and is a member of the New Orleans Commercial Investment Division of NOMAR.
