Stirling Properties Announces The Fresh Market is Coming to New Orleans
The specialty grocery retailer to occupy Borders old location on St. Charles Avenue
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana —- (SEPTEMBER 21, 2011) Stirling Properties is pleased to announce that The Fresh Market is coming to New Orleans. The retailer will lease the 24,000 square foot, 2-story, building on 3338 St. Charles Avenue which was previously occupied by Borders. This location will be The Fresh Market’s fourth in Louisiana with stores already in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Mandeville.
The Fresh Market is a specialty grocery retailer focused on providing high-quality products in a unique and inviting atmosphere. The store will utilize the location’s two stories to provide customers with a distinctive shopping experience. There will be many culinary delights, including a bakery that produces 30 freshly baked breads and 14 different varieties of pie daily, a full service meat counter with freshly ground beef, a wide selection of ready-to-serve entrées, fresh seafood delivered to the store several times per week, and more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses, a large wine and spirits selection, as well as a bountiful produce department with more than 400 items and a large organic selection.
“St. Charles is the perfect location for The Fresh Market,” said Lewis Stirling, Executive Vice President and Partner for Stirling Properties. “The area’s demographics support this type of retailer and given the current economic climate where retail spaces tend to sit vacant longer, it’s a testament to our team’s ability and the strength of the region that this location was able to get back into commerce so quickly.”
Lewis also added that Stirling Properties was diligent about meeting with the Garden District Association and in speaking with area neighbors to ensure that there was a good match between community and retailer. “The Fresh Market is known for its unparalleled product selection and expert customer service,” he said. “It will be a rewarding new food shopping experience for customers and I think they’ll like what The Fresh Market has to offer.”
