Stirling Properties Celebrates Team Members at Annual Stirling Honors Event
On Friday, March 15, Stirling Properties recognized employees and commercial agents at the company’s annual Stirling Honors meeting and recognition luncheon at Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington. Along with the introduction of Stirling’s newly-formed Stewardship Committee, the 610 Stompers performed and Brett Patron, Executive Director of the 610 Stompers, discussed their journey as an entertainment group to a 501 (c) (3) charity. Stirling Properties’ Commercial Brokerage Division presented the award for Top Commercial Agent and Most Transactions to Rhonda Sharkawy, Senior Retail Leasing and Development Executive in the New Orleans office. Scott Macdonald, Sales and Leasing Executive in the Baton Rouge office, received the award for Most Improved, for having the highest production level improvement over the previous year. Donations Collected for Train of Hope, A Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort
Having experienced our own recovery after Hurricane Katrina, we know all too well how those in the Northeast are feeling in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. In an effort to help with the disaster relief, we found a local organization, Train of Hope, that StirlingProperties is supporting. In addition to donating badly needed supplies like cleaning supplies, diapers and other baby items, toiletries, and blankets, we also donated Christmas toys to the Train of Hope collection effort. With the help of Amtrak, many generous individuals and volunteers, the train left on Friday, December 14th to deliver these critical supplies and toys to areas of New York and New Jersey devastated by Hurricane Sandy. TWO baggage cars were filled with donations from all 50 states.
Stirling Properties Adopts Christmas Angels

Stirling Properties has teamed up with Volunteers of America this holiday season to adopt 4 Northshore families. Agents and employees of Stirling Properties have donated food baskets and gifts for these families that are in need this Christmas season, with items being delivered over the next few days. We were able to provide gifts and food for a total of 13 family members, parents and children, whose ages range from 18 months to 40 years old.
Southeast Super-Region Committee awarded gold medal by IEDC
Just a few short years ago, I was interviewed by a reporter for an article focusing on the extreme divisiveness, dislike and disdain between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. At that time, I even wrote an opinion column, The Feud is Fading, pointing out the futility in this situation and how it was preventing our region from competing nationally and globally.
It was from those roots that discussions began among a small group who had business interests which cross parish lines, from New Orleans and Baton Rouge, to form the Southeast Super- Region Committee. So today it is truly exciting and gratifying to have the Super-Region Committee being recognized for an award for cross collaboration by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).
To me, this represents hope for the continued future success of our region.
