Stirling Properties Participates in Soldiers’ Angels Operation Overseas Mardi Gras
COVINGTON, LOUISIANA (February 7, 2011) –
Stirling Properties collected Mardi Gras items to send to men and women serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. For the second year in a row, the company collected Mardi Gras trinkets, costumes and beads for the Louisiana Chapter of Soldiers’ Angels Operation Overseas Mardi Gras. Soldiers’ Angels is a non-profit, international volunteer organization that provides yearlong aid to all branches of the United States military.
“Several of our employees are military veterans, while others have family members who are currently deployed, so it was important to us to let the troops know we support them,” said Marty Mayer, President and CEO of Stirling Properties.
This year, with participation from area schools, employees from Stirling Properties mailed 25 boxes to send to the troops. Mrs. Daviston’s second grade class at Covington Elementary School and Mrs. Reed’s and Mrs. Bendernagel’s sixth grade classes at Mandeville Middle School provided dozens of hand crafted cards and letters which were included in the packages.
“The letters the children wrote and the cards they made are so special,” said Tina Crouchet, Lease Administrator for Stirling Properties and mother of Spc. Randy L. Caminita Jr. who is currently serving in Afghanistan. “These packages will definitely make our troops smile and, more importantly, allows us to extend our local culture and carnival spirit to those not able to spend Mardi Gras with their family and those yet to experience our carnival traditions.”
Stirling Properties’ hope is to help exceed Soldiers’ Angels goal of 1,500 boxes, which will mean every currently-deployed Louisiana Unit will have a purple, green and gold care package to open in time for Mardi Gras.

COVINGTON, Louisiana —- (DECEMBER 9, 2010) Mark Salvetti, Director of Project Management for Stirling Properties, recently attended the ICSC CenterBuild Conference, a three day, premier retail design and construction conference held in Phoenix, Arizona on December 1st. The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) hosts this annual conference where more than 2,000 architects, contractors, developers, engineers, tenant coordinators and retailers gather to learn, engage, and connect with industry leaders.
This year is Mr. Salvetti’s fifth year attending CenterBuild and third year as a member of the CenterBuild Program Planning Committee. Along with the ICSC Advisory Council, the 50 member Program Planning Committee is responsible for the conference’s overall success. “The most important tool we have in understanding the changing demographics that affect our retail landscape is education,” said Salvetti. “CenterBuild is the best way to expand your knowledge base and I encourage anyone in the industry to attend.”
